Paul

I started working for my uncle in Lloyds of London in my 20s, but decided it wasn’t for me, so set off travelling the world. I returned to set up my carpentry business, eventually moving to our previous location, where I also ran a sawmill, utilising the trees from the 60 acre woodland, creating everything from stilts to timber frames.

My plan was to build a house on the land there, but we stumbled across filming opportunities and I realised that all my skills, machinery and resources could be put to more exciting use. I began set building, stunt work and set up successful pyrotechnics, using my engineering and creative abilities.

We bought Sampson house in April 2026 and are now adapting it to achieve it’s potential as a film location. I am on hand to create wonderful sets and props, to undertake groundworks, to facilitate filming and to drive and maintain equipment we have to hire.

I am also here to facilitate and create special effects, including car stunts and explosions.

Amanda

I started off my career as a graphic designer, moving into teaching and becoming an Autism Specialist. Having left teaching, I chose to focus on helping Paul at the farm.

I am now re-discovering my creative and pottery skills in the new pottery studio and love being amongst the creativity and energy of the people who come to film at the farm. I am resourceful and practical, enjoying all that our new house and grounds has to offer, in gardening, decorating, history and interior design.

I handle bookings and web enquiries, as well as managing the web site.

I look after the green room and I am available to assist. If you are filming here and have a question, just ask me – I usually have an answer or solution.
