We offer a variety of indoor spaces spread across the house and the various outbuildings, ranging from period rooms with beautiful views, secret entrances to hidden spaces, and functional barns with vaulted ceilings.

The house   

Sampson House is an historic Grade II Listed farmhouse dating from the 14th century, set at the end of a long driveway with a comprehensive range of outbuildings. There are many period features including exposed floorboards and oak timbers, as well as a beautiful inglenook fireplace.

Walking around the house you experience the atmosphere of its history, including amazing carved and aged beams, uneven floors with dark, wide floorboards and views out to the gardens and fields beyond. There are concealed spaces and false doors, a trapdoor in the attic floor and baby grand piano, hidden away in the back room.

There is a huge attic space with a writing desk at one end and impressive cart wheel at the other. It is accessed via a secret, fortified door. The outside elevations are brick, the first floor timber framed with plaster infill beneath a pitched tiled roof.

THE OUTBUILDINGS    

There is a superb collection of outbuildings, including garages and workshops of timber and brick construction. There is a Victorian Grooms House, with large spaces, currently in the process of being renovated. All buildings can be adapted to be used in a variety of guises.

The driveway continues round to the barn complex where a gate gives access to a part wall enclosed concreted courtyard.

Double doors open to a Sussex barn of part brick construction with concrete flooring, and a staircase leads to first floor storage area with a vaulted ceiling. This is a large space, which doubles as green screen and set construction area. There is a door to the outside and an internal door leading into a wing, which is divided into a large storage area with double opening doors to the front and attached to two further garages.

Beyond the barn is a 10m swimming pool with sauna, a raised decking area and far reaching views of fields and forest.

14 Acres of Untamed Landscape

From ancient woodland and open fields to train tracks and a dramatic bridge, the grounds at Wilding Wood offer extraordinary variety. Shoot a chase sequence through dense forest, a pastoral scene in the meadow, or a dramatic action act all within a single location.

The garden and grounds

The gardens provide a private, charming and natural backdrop to this historic property.

There is a paved terrace and areas of lawn with numerous mature trees and shrubs including roses, rhododendrons, camellia, azalea, oaks, ash and an orchard consisting of a selection of heritage fruit trees including a medlar. The land is principally deciduous woodland with areas of pasture. 

Of particular note is the huge, three-arch former railway bridge which remains from when the line was closed in 1964. This includes around 800m of former railway track and sidings. There is a long, private driveway bordered by overhanging trees and a 4 acre field, which can provide extra parking.

At the top of the field is an old quarry, which is now inhabited by an array of wildlife including a wonderful badgers set.

Infinite Worlds, Built on Your Terms

Our dedicated green screen studio gives your production total creative freedom. Pair the estate's natural settings with digitally composited environments, or use the studio as a standalone controlled space.

oUR STUDIO   

The Wilding Wood studio is the largest green screen studio available for hire in the South East, outside of London and Brighton.

​The studio can be used for a wide variety of projects including photoshoots, film production, music videos, animations, puppetry, presentations - and so much more.

The space can be transformed into a photo studio (without the green!) or can be hired with a projector for film previews for up to two people.

Weekday Sudio Hire:
Half day — £200
Full day — £300
Weekend studio hire:
Half day — £250
Full day — £350.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES   

We know the main requirements of a green screen studio are the space and colour, but we do offer other features to support the team on the day. These include unlimited on-site parking, a changing area in the studio, and 4 can lights on ceiling rigging which are included as standard for every booking.
